SERVE

FIND PURPOSE SERVING OTHERS

God calls us to an active faith which includes serving others. When we shift our focus off of ourselves onto others we begin to experience the life of purpose we were created for.  And when we’re working side-by-side serving with other people, we find a sense of community.

Whether you want to serve inside Chelsea Free Methodist Church, in our community, or the surrounding area, we have exciting ways for you to get involved.

FEATURED SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES:

BOUNCE HOUSE VOLUNTEERS

Give back to our community by lending a hand during the Sounds and Sights Festival.

Sixteen volunteers are needed to staff the Bounce House and assist with clean-up on July 30, 2022. This is a great opportunity for our church to interact with families from our community as a newly-minted "New Harvest" body.

Emily Cousino is our in-house coordinator. Please encourage her in this role by quickly signing up. Direct your question to her at: emilayanne25@gmail.com

HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS

Did you know Faith In Action routinely provides food and supplies to 100 or more households each month? One of their primary needs is for donors like us to deliver supplies to keep their pantry stocked.

The following items are needed most each week:

  • Laundry Soap (Greatest need!)
  • Toilet Paper
  • Cleaning Supplies
  • Coffee
  • Spaghetti Sauce

Bring any of these five items to our Drive-in Service on Sundays so we can bless our neighbors in need.

SERVING THE HOMELESS COMMUNITY

Hill House is a daytime homeless refuge center we partner with in Ann Arbor. Be part of a team that prepares food and serves dinner while building relationships with the forgotten and marginalized.  As needs arise, we also collect and distribute supplies.

Our next meal will be on Sunday, June 5. Please consider signing up for one or more of the items on the signup link once it becomes available. You can also sign up to come along and help serve and share in the meal on that day.

Food and other items can be delivered to the drive-in church location in the afternoon of the meal service date from 2:30 - 2:45 pm or immediately prior to our departure to Hill House. The 10 X 12 baking pans will be available at drive-in church the Sunday of and the week before the meal.
